About La Pintada, Panama
Our development is about 4 minutes from a small quiet town called
La Pintada, which has a couple of restaurants, an ice cream shop,
a couple of general store type grocery stores a pharmacy and such.
The people are extremely freindly and as you walk around at night
you can see that they are very social with their neighborhood porch
parties. 10 more minutes from there, (15 from the property) is a larger
town called Penonome. Penonome is much bigger with many restaurants,
several large modern grocery stores, two large hotels, several pharmacies,
many clothing and shoe and department stores, several banks etc......
It has all the needs of life. Both towns are growing due to the area
growing. There is an airstrip at Penonome and the second international
airport is going to be built to acomodate the beach resorts in that
area. The beach resorts are 25 min. from Penonome. Penonome has everything
you need, the only thing it does not have is that big city feel with
enclosed shopping malls and movie theatres. But Panama city is only
an easy (no mountainous roads) 1hr 50 minutes from the development.
What I like about the area is that both towns are clean and there
is a lot of pride in keeping the area landscaped and clean. The temperature
at the development is, I would say 82 degrees in the day for a high
and around 60 degrees at night in the dry season and probably 68 degrees
at night in the rainy season. There are some days in the rainy season
where if feels like it may be a little hotter in the day, around 85
or so. But the beauty of this area is that the wind comes from the
Atlantic, hits the mountains and goes vertical, gets cool and comes
back down and hits the develoment and cools things off a bit. The
key for the daytime is to get in a little shade out of the sun and
it is perfect. I beleive that if you build a house with some nice
shade trees around it, you probably would not need ac in the day,
and you definitely do not need it at night. You never feel the Florida
Summer type of oppressive heat at the property. The lots are larger
here than other developments, to offer both privacy and the ability
to have some sort of hobby on your property. You can plant fruit trees,
flowers, have horses etc..... we want to attract people that don't
want to sit in a condo and die, but want to live a more active retirement
life in a warm and beautiful environment. The lot sizes are around
2 acres in Phase I. Phase I lots are going for 16 dollars a square
meter which is more than half of what other projects are going for.
If you buy a lot in Phase I, my guess is that in less than a year,
the prices will probably double. So it is also a great investment.
A Phase I lot is around $125,,000. House building costs are extremely
reasonable here, with the cost of a 2000 square foot house going for
around $120,000. So for 2 acres and a 2000 square foot Spanish Colonial
house you are looking at around $245,000 US. We think the advantages
of our development are as follows: 1. Very safe, no crime area
2. Secluded, uncrowded development, but close to 2 nice clean towns,
and less than 2 hours from Panama city. 3. Public transportation from
the development all the way into Panama city or all over the country.
4. Early prices are a bargain for Panama right now.
5. Cooler climate, but not cold like the highlands (Boquette)
6. Very beautiful landscape, with 2 rivers and mountain views.
7. Extremely low cost of living. Full time live in maid 150.00 per
month, gardener and driver same. Restaurants and groceries are extremely
cheap also, especially away from Panama City. You can live very comfortable
on Social Security here.
8. Only 40 Minutes to Pacific Beaches and Golf Resorts and 40 minutes
to Caribbean.
9. New International Airport being built in Penonome, 15 minutes away
that will have direct flights.
10. Next boom area of Panama. |
